Self-Assessments

SPRING SEMESTER 2010

Marking Period 4

6/4

This year went by really fast. It’s crazy that it’s already over. I have learned and grown so much this past year it is nuts. I had no idea what I wanted to do this year for my artwork and the art show. It was a happy accident that led me to abstract art. Over the year I worked really hard and always tried experimenting with new techniques within the art form. I just don’t understand how doing simple abstract art would give me so much gratification but it did. It allowed me to come into more of my own I’d say. I am extremely pleased with how everything turned out in the end I’m just sad it’s over and I probably won’t be making art like this for a whole year ever again. I think my efforts this year proves that I deserve an A and also how much I have grown and changed through the experience of Portfolio Art.

Marking Period 3

4/5

For the third marking period I again would give myself an A. I have continued to work hard for the most part, and I continue to do what is asked of me and I typically hand in my work on time. I have completed many projects this marking period and have many more pieces to show for it. The only part I didn’t do too well this marking period was updating my blog with my new work, but it is all posted and up now. I hope I can continue to work hard so I have many more pieces for the art show. I feel I worked hard, and did my best this marking period, and is why I deserve an A yet again.

FALL SEMESTER 2009

Marking Period 2

1/21

For the second marking period I would give myself a low A. I continued with my abstract work but I don’t feel it was as successful as the first marking period. Even without loving all of my work I continued to work hard and put effort forth almost everyday. I have had mostly everything updated on my website on time and have continued to do what is asked of me without having too many reminders. I have been independent and self driven as I should be in the class. I have continued to learn alot with the type of art I am continuing to explore. I am still experimenting with painting techniques and new ideas to see what does and doesn’t work. I am still trying to make my best work with these new ideas and techniques. I have worked hard and that is why I believe I deserve a low A this marking period.

Marking Period 1

10/30

For this first marking period I would give myself an A. I started out not knowing what this year would have in store for me with my art work. I have participated and worked on my art every single day I have been in the art room. I tried to make the most of my time and use the one period I had to my advantage. I have been able to get through most of my pieces as fast as I could and I usually handed in my papers on time, or a few days after the due date. I always tried in each piece to make it my best, and make it different from my other pieces as to not repeat and make all my work look the same. I have also learned a lot this first marking period. I have found the type of work I believe I have been the most successful at so far in all the years I have taken any art course. I have found more of myself in my work, and I actually am happy with it which usually never happens. So because of a happy accident with my first piece I now have a whole collection that I am proud of. I also have learned new painting techniques and styles through my abstract pieces. From all that I have learned, how successful my pieces are, and my ability to turn in other assignments I believe I deserve an A this marking period.
