We are not just the art kids. We are jocks, nerds, geeks, musicians, actors, and many other various stereotypes. It is all of these things that we do outside of the art room that influence us in the art room. We can collectively as a group be art kids but I don’t believe we fit the stereotype you see in the movies where you have the art kid who only hangs out with other art kids. We are much more then that and by bringing all of these things together we are multilayered art kids. On the surface we all seem one way but if you peel back the layers you see we have many different layers. This makes us diverse and you can see that through the art we do. It reflects on our personalities which is why it is all so different from one another. If we were all the sterotypical art kid we would all produce the same art and this class would just be boring. It is our personalities, and layers that makes the class interesting and makes our art identity hard to define. It is so cliche that we are simply just different but thats honestly all there really is to say. I still think it’s funny when kids go to me “does so and so do art?” it just goes to show just how we have this mask on but if you peel it back you can see the many layers each one of us has.
